I put it off so long that I then couldn't find the shirts I wanted to use and had to settle for shirts from the craft store, but I think I'm the only one who minded. : )
I started with this:
3 cotton shirts from the craft store (I prefer the nicer knit shirts from Target, but.....you snooze, you lose....)
.....and some cute Old Navy remnant fabric I found on eBay:
and finally ended up with this:
for Robert:
for Jacob:
I couldn't find long-sleeve shirts for Jacob and Ashlyn, so had to improvise....
and for Ashlyn:
I had originally planned to embroider their names along with the applique, but had another order come in and decided it was good enough without because they were chomping at the bit to wear them. I finished them up at about 5 p.m. one evening and all 3 of my kids raced to be the first one to shower and put on their new pj's (yes, even my tween). They're kind of weird like their mom.....it doesn't take much to make them happy ~ and I've been known to get excited over a brand new bottle of shampoo. ; )

They look wonderful! I know the feeling, I too have a sewing project that is still in the idea part.
